Floods, landslides washed away several houses in Kenya
Kenya's Ministry of Interior says floods and landslides have washed away houses and disrupted activities in the Mahi-Mahiu area, with 45 people dead and others missing.
previously one of the police officers in the area, Stephen Kirui, had told the Associated Press news agency that the Kijabe dam located in the Mahi-Mahiu area broke its banks and carried mud, stones and also uprooted trees.

but in a statement released yesterday evening, the Nakuru County government said that the floods were caused by the blocking of the railway line.
Cars were stuck in the mud while medical personnel treated the injured while the flood waters continued to cover other areas.
The Red Cross organization has said that 109 people have been admitted to hospital while the other 49 are missing
