The Dar es Salaam Special Zone Police force, in collaboration with the Communications Authority (TCRA), have arrested and questioned 27 people on suspicion of involvement in various online crimes, including obtaining money through fraud.
The police commander in the region, Jumanne Muliro has said that the suspects have been calling and sending text messages (SMS) claiming that the money has been sent by mistake, so it should be returned, others claim that they are cleaning the stars to get rich and connect them with what they claim is Freemason.

"Sometimes they deceive people that they have won and get dividends from various telephone companies and others pretend to be government officials by claiming that they solve the problems of employees with problems, an issue that ends up stealing money from them through the Internet," said Commander Muliro.
He said that some suspects have been arrested with a total of 41 phones and 88 phone lines of various networks with different registrations and explained that they will be brought to court as soon as possible
